Casandra Jimenez, Postpartum Doula
Casandra is a certified Postpartum Doula. She grew up in her mother’s single parent household with four sisters. Over the years, her family's sisterly bond and open acceptance of others created an emotional safe haven for many friend-sisters to learn, share, and grow as women.
Her decision to be a doula comes from her passion for all mothers to have the sisterly love and support she had growing up. Before supporting families as a postpartum doula, she supported girls and women in a variety of capacities including leading an all girls yoga class at a juvenile detention center, holding space in pregnancy and birth as a Pranakriya prenatal yoga teacher and labor doula, and taking care of moms and babies in the immediate postpartum at a local naturopathic birth center.
She vividly remembers her mother speaking of both pregnancy and the 40 days after birth as a sacred time where women honor and respect their bodies in order promote lifelong health and wellbeing for both mom and baby.
Casandra was blessed with her first child in early 2018 and had the privilege to be taken care of for her first 40 days as a mother by her own mother. She is honored and thrilled to offer the same for other families by holding space as they welcome their babies into their homes, easing the load of everyday life so they can focus on the joy and excitement of this special time.
In her spare time Casandra enjoys family time with her son at the park, hiking Portland's many natural areas, jogging, playing acro yoga with friends, or cozying up to a good book with a cup of hot herbal tea.
