The Danish Breastfeeding Package

from 500.00

(One comprehensive lactation visit and two 4-hour follow-up lactation/postpartum visits.)

In Denmark, a nurse comes to your home when your baby is one week old to help with breastfeeding and general postpartum care, and continues to visit for the first year. That is what a family-supportive culture looks like, and we hope the US will catch up some day. In the meantime, and instead of moving to Denmark, you can live in beautiful Portland and call Bridgetown Baby.

This package begins with an initial lactation consultation with a Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), usually about 2 hours in length (longer with twins). It includes a thorough health history of mom and baby, observation and assessment of how your baby feeds at the breast, a weight check for baby, and a gentle examination of you and baby. At the end of the initial consultation, your IBCLC creates a written care plan that works for you and your family.

Our doulas—who are also IBCLC's—will then help implement the care plan. Our team will assess your progress every couple weeks, make adjustments to your care plan as needed, and provide nurturing postpartum support to help grow into your new life.

*More hours can be added as needed.
