Rosemary Ragusa - Postpartum Doula

Rosemary is a trained postpartum doula and a graduate of Birthingway College’s lactation consultant program (eagerly awaiting the results of her IBCLE exam). She is currently finishing up her certification to work as an ICEA childbirth educator as well. Rosemary’s love for working with babies, birth and breastfeeding began in childhood being raised by her natural childbirth and breastfeeding advocate of a mother, and helping to care for her younger siblings. When she was a new mother herself, Rosemary was struck by how much can be done to make the postpartum experience more enjoyable with a little (or a lot) of help from those gathered around a newly formed family.

Rosemary has worked with new families for many years as a photographer, helping families capture and memorialize the precious and fleeting moments of childhood. She earned a bachelors degree in fine art photography from San Francisco State University.

Rosemary works with Natural Latch Lactation as an apprentice, facilitates a couple of support groups around town, and teaches pay-what-you-can childbirth classes at the Alma Education Space for low income families - with passion for inclusivity in all of her work. In her free time she enjoys spending time outdoors with her wife and son, traveling to interesting new places, cooking, reading, watching movies, singing and goofing off.
