Rosemary Ragusa, IBCLC, Postpartum Doula
Rosemary is a certified Postpartum Doula and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). Her love for babies, birth, and breastfeeding began in childhood. Raised by her natural childbirth and breastfeeding advocate mother, Rosemary helped care for her younger siblings. When she became a new mother herself, she was struck by how much could be done to make the postpartum experience more enjoyable with a little (or a lot) of help from those gathered around a newly formed family.
When not supporting families as a doula, Rosemary apprentices with Natural Latch Lactation Services, facilitates breastfeeding support groups around Portland, Oregon, and teaches pay-what-you-can childbirth classes for low income families at the Alma Education Space. She is also currently completing her certification as an International Childbirth Education Association educator. Rosemary believes passionately in making her work inclusive and accessible for all, and is eager to support growing families with her wide array of skills.
With a bachelor's degree in fine art photography from San Francisco State University, Rosemary has also worked with new families for many years as a photographer, helping capture and memorialize the precious fleeting moments of childhood. In her free time, she enjoys being outdoors with her wife and son, traveling to interesting new places, cooking, reading, watching movies, singing, and goofing off.
