Celebrate Mama's Day with Us By Supporting Better Birth Outcomes for All Families

Mama's Day is a way to celebrate and thank our mamas, with more than cards and flowers, for all that they do. We uplift all those who play the role of mama in our lives, including biological and chosen mamas, extended family, adoptive, guardian, and foster mamas, and multigenerational, multicultural, neighborhood, reservation, nearby, and long-distance mamas. We also know that mamahood is not an individual act. Mamahood happens in community, in collaboration, and in context. It is a strength of our communities that we are interdependent and utilize networks of support. Let’s celebrate the things that support mamas, and work to change the things that make mamahood more difficult.

At Bridgetown Baby, we believe that we as mothers, are an interconnected, powerful force for good in the world. That’s why every Mother’s Day we are proud to highlight a non-profit that is on the front lines of social change on behalf of all women and families.

This year, we are thrilled to celebrate and support Forward Together, whose mission is to “unite communities to win rights, recognition and resources for all families. We transform culture and policy […] dismantl[ing] the ways our society marginalizes us based on race, sexuality, and gender. [W]e build courage and foster connection among our multi-racial community of changemakers to secure the rights, recognition and resources all families need to thrive.

Oregon faces a maternal health crisis, where Black and Native mamas are 3 to 4 times more likely than white mamas to die of complications during childbirth; Oregon ranks 25 out of all 50 states in maternal harm.

Forward Together is leading the effort in Oregon to create access to healthcare for all mamas of color, wherever there are barriers to healthy birth outcomes.

Join us in making the world more just and kind for all mamas and their families by making a donation to Forward Together today .
