On-Call Sibling Support

We know labor and delivery are unpredictable. For families in need of care for older siblings during labor and delivery, we offer support from our team of postpartum doulas. On-Call Sibling Support with a postpartum doula provides around the clock care for older siblings while parents are away at a hospital, birth center or while laboring and delivering at home. The doula may then remain, giving care for up to 12 hours (subject to doula’s availability) post delivery or until a relative or friend can take over child care.

What We Offer:

• 30 min interview to meet your On-Call Sibling Support doula team and discuss expectations.

• Two 2-hour playdates with soon-to-be older siblings to create familiarity and begin forging a bond.

• Resources on how to best support your child.

• Support around planning for the postpartum period with siblings.

• On-call support beginning 10 days prior to due date until baby is born.

• 24-hr care for sibling(s) until baby is born and a parent or neighbor/family member is able to care for sibling(s).

• Help with logistics of ensuring the birthing person can remain in labor-mode. This may include help with bedtime, facilitating the morning routine, distraction from or participation in labor as desired, etc.

Client Fee:

• $1,000 non-refundable on-call retainer (10 days prior to EDD until baby is born).

• $45/hr per hour once care has begun. A minimum of 6 hours per day is required (included in initial payment).

• Additional prenatal visits $45/hr as doula’s schedule allows

Your doulas will be on call for your family for 10 days before your due date to ensure that they will be ready at a moment’s notice to provide care to your family. During this time, your doulas will be available by call or text.
