Resources for Raising Conscious Kids: March 2023 Edition

As an agency, Bridgetown Baby is deeply committed to confronting bias within ourselves, building our skills, and creating an inclusive model of care that authentically serves our clients and contributes to culture change. This is work we all can do. It starts with us; it continues with our children - and we are their most important teachers. Each month, we'll be sharing resources for talking with kids about bias, celebrating diversity, and actions our families can take to create a world we all can live in.

In celebration of Women’s History Month, we’re highlighting a cute board book that packs a serious thematic punch - the tangible power of women as leaders!

This Little Trailblazer: A Girl Power Primer offers bright colors and big-eyed illustrations to catch the attention of young readers, while narrating the accomplishments of ten diverse women who made important social changes in contexts ranging from racial equity and girls’ education to STEAM, the arts, sports and the law.

With gently rhyming main text and follow-up age-appropriate explanations of each leader’s role, both littles and their grown-ups can enjoy being inspired by those who’ve paved the way for all kids to be trailblazers in their own right.

Find This Little Trailblazer: A Girl Power Primer at your local library, or purchase at your local independent book shop or online at Powell’s.com.
