At Bridgetown Baby, Mamas Day is more than just a celebration—it's a call to action.
Each May, we honor the caregivers, nurturers, and fierce advocates who mother in all the ways that matter most by rallying our community around a cause that supports families. This year, we are proud to direct our Mamas Day Fundraiser efforts toward the Immigrant Mutual Aid Coalition (IMAC), a volunteer-run organization that’s doing vital work to support immigrant families in our local communities.
Why IMAC?
IMAC was born in 2020, during the devastating wildfire evacuations that displaced many families in Clackamas County. Since then, it has grown into a deeply rooted, volunteer-led mutual aid network that supports hundreds of immigrant families three times each month by distributing culturally relevant food and fresh produce, diapers, hygiene products, and community resources in a safe, welcoming environment. As part of the Blueprint for a Healthy Clackamas County, IMAC also holds monthly outreach events to farmworking families in the vastly underserved, rural areas of the county. IMAC also provides access to services like legal assistance, English classes, vaccine clinics, and “Know Your Rights” training sessions.
IMAC’s mission is simple yet profound: to provide mutual aid to immigrant families and reduce health disparities and equity gaps in our community. And with only one part-time paid coordinator, this group relies entirely on donations and volunteers, many of whom are former recipients giving back in service.
Why Now?
We believe that all families deserve the safety, security, and support they need to thrive. However, in the face of federal policy decisions and budget cuts that threaten food banks and other lifeline programs, families who already live in precarious circumstances are facing even more uncertainty. Now, more than ever, immigrant communities need to know they are welcomed, supported, and valued.
When government systems fall short, community steps in—and that’s exactly what we’re doing together.
How You Can Help
This Mamas Day, we invite you to support IMAC by purchasing essential items from their Target wishlist. Every donation goes directly into the hands of families who need diapers, food, hygiene products, and more. No donation is too small—every bit helps fill the shelves and hearts of our neighbors. Some examples of impactful purchases include; a case of diapers, feminine hygiene products, cleaning products, and Target gift cards in any amount.
Last year, our incredible Bridgetown Baby community helped us raise $12,000 for families in our community.
This year, let’s work together to fulfill IMAC’s wishlist.
If you’ve already donated—thank you. If you haven’t yet, now’s the time. Every purchase brings us closer to a stronger, more caring community, one where immigrant families are not only seen and welcomed, but supported in the ways they need most.
Thank you for being a part of our loving community.
We’re endlessly grateful to our Bridgetown Baby clients and community partners for showing up, year after year, with love and generosity. Together, we are an interconnected, powerful force for good in the world.
With love,
Your Bridgetown Baby Team
