Insurance & Family Benefits

HSA & FSA Payments

Many families are able to use HSA (Health Savings Account) or FSA (Flexible Spending Account) funds for postpartum doula or lactation services.

Some plans allow direct payment using your HSA/FSA card, while others require reimbursement after payment. We recommend checking with your individual plan for details about eligibility and coverage.

Postpartum Registry

One of the most meaningful gifts you can receive after birth is support. We would be honored to help you create a Bridgetown Baby postpartum registry, allowing friends, family, and loved ones to contribute toward postpartum doula and lactation care.

Registry funds can be used to create a customized care plan for your family throughout the first year after birth whether that means overnight support, feeding guidance, recovery care, or simply an extra set of caring hands during this season of transition. • We believe high quality postpartum care starts with happy, highly-trained doulas that earn a living wage. For Bridgetown Baby doulas, we offer free continuing education, a monthly social justice study group and mentorship.

We also pay it forward every chance we get by offering families a sliding scale, volunteering our time to families in need, and raising funds to create a more just community.

When you hire a Bridgetown Baby doula, you are making an investment that lasts far beyond the postpartum year - once your doula, always your doula - we build lifelong connections with the families we serve.

  • The range can be relatively wide depending on where you are in the country (or world!) the experience of the doula & your family’s specific circumstances. A range of $45-$80/ hour is a ball park. Where possible do try to consider a range of factors, not just price, when making the important decision of who you’d like to support your family in this most special of seasons.

  • Postpartum doula care costs vary depending on your area, the experience of the doula team & other factors such as whether you have multiples and the time of day. Here’s a realistic example to answer the question “how much do doulas cost?”

    • Short-term support (20 hours): $1,000–$1,600

    • One month of care (60 hours): $2,700–$4,800

    • Three months of care (180 hours): $8,000–$14,000

It may sound like a significant investment—but many families report that doula care was the most valuable money they spent during the newborn phase.
