BB Partner Profile: Ashley Koch Nutrition and Wellness

It takes a village to raise a child, and as an agency we cultivate a village of partner providers who support our clients in making the childbearing year nurtured, healthy and vibrant.

Each month, we profile one of our partners - it’s one more way in which we strive to weave a comprehensive safety net for our clients and build up other local businesses who are also working to shift toward a culture that truly respects and cherishes families.

This month, we’re pleased to profile Bridgetown Baby partner Ashley Koch of Ashley Koch Nutrition and Wellness.

As a functional nutritionist, Ashley’s journey began from a place of imbalance - suffering numerous chronic conditions that caused her to miss days of her life and required hospital care, treated with pharmaceutical “fixes” but no guidance on how her diet of refined carbohydrates, chemicals, processed foods and sugar might be influencing her health. Moving cross-country after college, she experienced an awakening in the farmers markets of Northern California; with dietary changes, and continued learning through alternative, integrative and functional medical care, she was able to feel truly healthy and symptom-free.

These experiences inspired Ashley to complete her Master’s of Science in Functional Medicine and Human Nutrition to gain evidence-based approaches that changed her life and the health of her own children. She now enjoys helping others find deep well-being and build longterm health for themselves and their families. With a particular passion for early nutrition, she firmly believes that teaching children the value of healthy choices is a parenting skill worth cultivating, to influence health over the lifetime. Though the learning curve may feel steep, Ashley delights in supporting families in raising healthy eaters and using their parenting strengths to build a healthy foundation for the entire family. Ashley partners with adults in all stages of life to evaluate their individual biochemistry and create lifestyle modification that can lead to optimal longterm health, address ongoing symptoms, and prevent or reverse chronic disease.

Learn more about Ashley here and access her special offer for Bridgetown Baby families, which includes a free 15-minute consultation. Ashley provides one-on-one in person or virtual counseling from Biolounge in NW Portland.
