Jennifer Bernard
Certified Postpartum Doula | she/her
“Jennifer was a calming presence in our house. I felt very comfortable leaving my newborn with her from day one, and I was always impressed by how well she was able to calm my baby.”
— Becca, parent of 1
Jennifer has had a passion for caring for newborns and families for as long as she can remember. Starting as a teenaged babysitter, she sought out Early Childhood Education classes in college to inform her work with infants and toddlers in a local daycare center. This is where she really fell in love with supporting parents through the big change of adding to their families, a love she carried through decades of work as a professional nanny.
Transitioning to postpartum doula care was a natural fit for Jennifer. Over the last half-decade, she has been a guide to many in celebrating the joys and challenges that are a natural part of growing and developing as a parent. Offering rest, hands-on education, and encouragement, Jennifer especially enjoys supporting parents in becoming confident in the skills they need to care for their newborns.
Whether she’s providing an ear to listen, or material support so parents can shower, rest or reconnect, Jennifer sees every family as unique in its own beauty, and every day as a new start.
While providing doula care is Jennifer’s heart work, she also enjoys reading, bowling, archery, cooking, and taking her Miniature American Shepherd, Riley, on daily dog park outings and occasional trips to explore Oregon’s gorgeous beaches.
