Marquita Jaramillo | she/her

Certified Postpartum Doula

“Marquita’s compassion, skill and knowledge guided us through a tough—and ultimately joyful—season of our lives. We are so grateful.”

— B.A., parent of 2

Marquita came to the world of birthwork at the age of nine when she attended the birth of her youngest sister at OHSU. That early experience planted a seed that would continue to call her back through a series of full-spectrum birth and postpartum experiences over the years. As she moved through her own journey of motherhood, including navigating the profound loss of her son to anencephaly shortly after birth, Marquita developed a deep understanding of the tenderness, complexity, and transformative nature of birth, postpartum, and grief. These experiences continue to shape her commitment to ensuring families feel held, informed, and deeply supported through every chapter of their journey.

Born and raised in Portland, Marquita has spent much of her life rooted in service, advocacy, and community-centered work. Her professional background spans maternal health, public health strategy, and leadership focused on strengthening systems of care for families and historically underserved communities. Through this work, she found herself continually drawn back to direct family support and the deeply human work of walking alongside people during life’s most vulnerable and powerful transitions.

As a birth, postpartum, and bereavement doula, Marquita offers grounded, compassionate, and culturally responsive care to families across Oregon. She specializes in overnight postpartum support and bereavement care, bringing a calm and reassuring presence to moments that can often feel uncertain or overwhelming. Her approach is rooted in trust, intuition, evidence-informed care, and creating space for each family to define what support looks like for them.

As a mother of two and wife of 24 years, Marquita brings both lived experience and professional dedication to her practice. She is especially passionate about advancing equitable maternal health outcomes and supporting families in navigating access to affirming, high-quality care.

When she’s not supporting families, Marquita can often be found spending time with her loved ones and furbaby, soaking in hot springs, attending concerts, enjoying scenic picnics, or taking in the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest one manageable hike at a time.
