Mamas Day Campaign: Support the Rights of Incarcerated Mothers & Their Babies

At Bridgetown Baby, we believe we are an interconnected, powerful force for good in the world. Each Mother’s Day, we bring our community together to support an effort that is making life better for families.

This year, we’re proud to highlight the Expression of Care Program of the Northwest Mothers Milk Bank, which provides incarcerated mothers with pumps, lactation support and safe transport of their milk to their babies.

The female prison population is disproportionately made up of women of color, women in poverty, and women who have a history of experiencing trauma and abuse. It is estimated that 80% of women in prison are mothers and 10% are pregnant at the time of incarceration. The Expression of Care Program works to eliminate barriers for women in Oregon who choose to provide breastmilk for their infants despite incarceration and separation.

Please join us in helping incarcerated in providing their breastmilk - an expression of their love - for their infants.

  • $25 Purchases milk collection bags for mamas

  • $50 Contributes to fuel costs for transporting milk locally

  • $100 Contributes the shipping cost to safely ship milk to babies

Please join us in supporting this life-changing program:

With love and gratitude,

The Bridgetown Baby Family
